Bri Mercandante, CSW-Intern
Bri was born and raised in Henderson NV where she continues to live and raise her family. She graduated from Nevada State College with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and immediately started working in the harm reduction and substance misuse field. Bri progressed from intake coordinator to program director, pouring her passion for advocacy into supporting her clients. She then completed her Masters of Social Work at Columbia University before beginning her work in pediatric hospice. Through her experience and education, Bri specializes in grief and loss, substance misuse, geriatrics focused on neurodegenerative diseases, and advocacy. She uses a combination of narrative therapies, , motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed, evidenced based practices.
Bri’s internships at the Cupcake Girls confirmed her belief that sex work is legitimate work and the LGBTQIA+ community is underserved. She believes deeply in the strength of community and the importance of advocacy and social justice.
In her free time, Bri enjoys spending time with her identical twin sons and husband, reading, watching movies, going on walks, and being with animals.
